Terms & Privacy Policy

By taking a quiz, ticking the consent box, and submitting the form, you agree to these terms and to Altera processing your information as described below. If you do not agree, do not submit the form. You may still leave the quiz without providing contact details.

Altera Consulting Co., Ltd. operates TalentQ as an entertainment quiz for career and job-related insights. We act as the business operator (data controller) of personal data you submit. For privacy requests, contact our Data Protection Officer at dpo@alteraconsulting.com.

Depending on the quiz and the fields you complete, we may collect:

• Identity and contact details — for example name, personal email, phone number, and LinkedIn URL.
• Whether you are based in Japan. We use this to decide whether to add you to our recruitment database.
• Professional details — for example job title, current employer, and years of experience.
• Quiz responses and your result (type / profile), including any optional fields you choose to add.
• Technical and audit data — a timestamp of your consent, IP address, and an anonymous session identifier used for funnel analytics.

We do not ask for sensitive data such as health, religion, union membership, or similar special-category information. Please do not include those details in free-text fields.

First, we use your answers to generate your quiz result — a self-discovery profile meant for entertainment and personal insight about how you work, what you value, and the kinds of roles or environments that may fit you. Results are not a psychometric exam, a hiring decision, or a guarantee of employment.

Before we show your full result, we send a one-time code to the email you provide so we can confirm you can access that inbox.

If you tick the consent box and submit your details, you also allow Altera to:

• Store your details and quiz results in our agency candidate database and applicant-tracking tools.
• Contact you about relevant job opportunities, career conversations, interviews, and recruitment services — including by email, phone, messaging apps, or LinkedIn.
• Assess your profile against open and future roles we are retained to fill.
• Share relevant information with prospective employers and clients when we consider you for a placement, on a confidential basis.
• Operate, secure, and improve TalentQ.

Submitting the form does not create an employment or placement contract.

We process your candidate record on the basis of your consent, given when you tick the box and submit the form. You may withdraw consent at any time (see section 9). Withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place.

We also process limited technical and analytics data as needed to run and protect the service (for example, preventing abuse and measuring quiz completion).

We share information only as needed to provide our services:

• Altera recruiters and staff who work on placements and related operations.
• Prospective employers and clients, when we present you as a candidate for a role.
• Service providers acting on our instructions, including Google Firebase (hosting and database), Resend (one-time email codes), and Zoho Recruit (applicant tracking).
• Professional advisers or authorities where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a corporate transaction.

We do not sell your personal data. Providers may process data outside Japan; we take steps consistent with applicable law to keep those transfers protected.

We keep your candidate record for as long as you remain in our talent pool and it is useful for recruitment, or as required by law — typically for several years unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Analytics events that do not identify you may be kept for reporting. When we no longer need the data, we delete or anonymize it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No internet transmission is completely secure; you share information at your own remaining risk.

Subject to Japanese and other applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of your personal data, object to certain processing, or ask for a copy in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent and ask us to stop contacting you about roles.

Email dpo@alteraconsulting.com to exercise these rights. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

You confirm that the information you provide is accurate, relates to you, and that you are permitted to share it. You agree to update us if your contact details change. Do not impersonate another person or submit another person’s personal data without authority.

TalentQ uses storage needed for the quiz to function (for example session progress). We record anonymous funnel events such as quiz starts, answers, and completions. These are not used to sell advertising. Your browser may also send standard technical data (such as IP address) when you use the site. A language preference cookie is stored only if you use the language switcher.

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of TalentQ after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms for later submissions. Material changes to how we use candidate data will be reflected here.

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Courts in Tokyo have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer or data-protection rights that apply where you live.
